Coogan is forgiven by Norfolk
Comedian Steve Coogan was cheered off stage after visiting the city he was once accused of ridiculing as spoof radio DJ Alan Partridge. Coogan took to the boards at Norwich's Theatre Royal in front of a sell-out audience. And they apparently warmed to him despite his previous jibes. It was his first performance in the city since provoking outrage in Norfolk over his portrayal of the county. In 2002, civic leaders accused Coogan's character of portraying it as "a backwater populated by yokels" on his hugely-successful BBC show, I'm Alan Partridge.
